Field Application Engineer

Amphenol GEC (a business unit within AIPG) is currently seeking qualified candidates for the position of Field Application Engineer HV Cable Harness EMEA. This individual will support both EU Sales team, European customers and customer engineering for our China and Hungary facilities and will be located at the Cserkút plant in Hungary.

Main tasks:

  • Provide technical and sales support to both the sales team and the customer on connector and cable harness, designs
  • Develop customers and maintain customer records of design and project activity.
  • Function as the technical / commercial liaison between the 2 GEC factories engineering/internal sales teams, the Amphenol Industrial EMEA sales team and customer base
  • Identification and development of business opportunities within assigned sales region and market
  • Establish and maintain relationships with key decision makers at targeted accounts
  • Assist in developing, implementing, and managing of sales plans and strategies to accomplish goals
  • Carry out such other duties that may be reasonably requested

Expectations:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Electronics related subject preferred.
  • Experience for connector/cable harness required, automotive industry background preferred.
  • Ability to read 2D drawings and STP files.
  • Previous experience working with global teams preferred.
  • Ability to work on their own without direct supervision.
  • Self-motivated with excellent work ethic
  • Some travel to customer and Amphenol sites required.

SQD Engineer

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement supplier quality management processes to assess, qualify, and monitor suppliers.
  • Conduct supplier audits and assessments to evaluate their capability to meet Amphenol’s quality standards and requirements. Quarterly visits to suppliers are a mandatory requirement, involving approximately 60% travel.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Procurement, Engineering, and Manufacturing, to establish quality criteria for suppliers and ensure their compliance.
  • Identify, investigate, and resolve quality issues related to supplied components and materials, and implement corrective and preventive actions. Special handling and recurring assessment of suppliers experiencing failures is required.
  • Analyze supplier performance data and develop performance scorecards to drive continuous improvement efforts. Provide continuous feedback to suppliers regarding their performance and trends.
  • Work closely with suppliers to develop and implement corrective action plans, process improvements, and quality control plans. Deep knowledge of automotive problem-solving methods is a must.
  • Provide technical expertise and support to suppliers in resolving quality-related issues and improving their manufacturing processes.
  • Collaborate with suppliers to help them grow and achieve higher quality performance. Cooperation is key in this role.
  • Conduct regular supplier performance reviews and provide feedback to vendors on their quality performance.
  • Stay updated on industry best practices, standards, and regulations related to supplier quality management.
  • Collaborate with the Engineering team to assess supplier capability for new product introductions and support the qualification process.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in [Engineering discipline] or related field. Master’s degree is a plus.
  • 3-5 years of experience in supplier quality management or a related role in
  • Strong understanding of quality management systems (ISO 9001, TS 16949, etc.) and quality tools (FMEA, PPAP, APQP, etc.).
  • Experience in conducting supplier audits and assessments.
  • Proficiency in statistical analysis and quality control methodologies.
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills for building and maintaining strong supplier relationships.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a cross-functional team environment.

SQA Engineer

Purpose of the job:

Support for operation in accordance with customer requirements and automotive industry standards. Coordination of operational and strategy tasks of Supplier quality management.

Main tasks:

  • Active participation in the design and development of quality management processes (IATF system development)
  • Creation and maintenance of engineering documentation
  • Corrective measures and follow-up in case of supplier non-conformities
  • Starting 8D if necessary
  • Supervision of component revision change sampling, supplier PPAP control and acceptance with the customer

  • Professional management and control of SQA operators and SQA technicians

Expectations:

  • At least 3 years of experience in a relevant position
  • Knowledge of quality methodologies, confident application in practice (APQP, PPAP, FMEA, SPC, MSA)
  • Active usage of 8D, 5W, Ishikawa, Kaizen, 5S+1
  • Experience in an IATF16949 manufacturing environment, proactive engineering approach
  • Knowledge of statistical methods
